Dear Montour Families:
The Montour School District continues to look for ways to ensure the security and welfare of our students and staff. As part of this practice, we will be implementing license plate-reading cameras on the high school and elementary school campus that will monitor and archive who is entering and exiting the premises.
The District has been working closely with the office of Allegheny County District Attorney, Stephen Zappala, who has long championed the expanding use of license plate-reading cameras to track and fight crime. Over nearly a decade, his office has built a network of nearly 500 surveillance cameras in Allegheny County. Montour School District is excited about this initiative as it serves to help ensure the safety of all students, staff and visitors.
