The Montour School District is proud to announce the following:
The National Science Foundation’s Advanced Technical Education program awarded Pittsburgh Technical College a $297,000 grant to launch an integrated software and machine lab instruction (ISMI) program, in partnership with Montour High School. The three-year grant program, which took effect July 1, 2019, will be used to develop courses and extracurricular programming for both PTC students and Montour High School upperclassmen interested in careers in architectural and mechanical engineering technology.
Additionally, Montour upperclassmen can register for integrated software and machine lab instruction programs through PTC and receive concurrent credit from the college and the high school. Students from PTC, enrolled in qualified design programs, also will gain valuable workforce skills through the ISMI program with access to classes utilizing the new machinery and technology put in place at Montour’s lab.
