T he Alliance is dedicated to stopping drug use among our youth by: linking various groups of people in partnerships, creating self-reliance rather than dependency, Providing support to youth drug victims and their families; and raising public awareness about the consequences of drug use. Visit the Alliance online. The Alliance has three main goals: Reduce the number of overdose and related deaths of persons under the age of 25. The Alliance monitors Allegheny County data and trends. Reduce tobacco, alcohol and drug related barriers to student achievement. Student Assistance Program referral data from each partcipating school district is requested yearly in order to monitor aggregate trends drug and alcohol policy violations. Increase community networking. All persons are asked to subscribe to the Alliance newsletter, i.e., become electronically connected to the cause. Internet statistics are monitored.
