Our Mission:
The mission of the David E. Williams Middle School Counseling Team is to assist ALL students in grades 5-8 in reaching their academic, emotional, and social potentials by providing academic leadership through a Developmental School Counseling Curriculum; ensuring our students have success in high school and beyond!
What's New?
Guidance N' Action Model: A comprehensive school counseling program that will result in EVERY student at D.E.W. Middle School having the opportunity to work one-on-one with his/her counselor in one of the many counseling programs that we offer to our students.
Career Cruising!
Career Cruising is our new career exploration program being piloted in 8th grade by Jennifer Alberico to help your child explore and refine his/her career search. Click on the link to find out more about this exciting counseling program.
ASCA Model:
We are in the third year of implementing the American School Counseling Association's (ASCA) National Model. This is a 5 year process with an end result that will provide your child with a comprehensive, academically-based school counseling program.
Some new and more refined additions to the D.E.W. Counseling Program:
5th Grade: Bully Free Fridays (BFF)
5th & 8th Grades: Individual Student Planning (ISP)
5-8 Grades: Peer Tutoring Initiative (PTI)
5-8 Grades: Team Leadership Core (TLC)
5-8 Grades: New Student Buddy Program
5-8 Grades: Young Environmentalists
