Mr. Jason Shoaf

Mr. Shoaf grew up in Natrona Heights, PA, which is approx. 30 minutes north of Pittsburgh.  He received his undergraduate degree in History from Penn State University and then attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he became certified as a Social Studies teacher.  Mr. Shoaf then earned his Master’s Degree in Administration and Leadership, received his K-12 Principal Certification, and received his Curriculum and Instruction Certification from the University of Pittsburgh.  

Mr. Shoaf comes to Montour with several years of experience. His career began at Valley Middle School, where he taught World History for one (1) year and then moved to Valley High School where he taught US History for 8 years.  Since 2015, he has been the Assistant Principal at Bethel Park High School.  Prior to Bethel Park High School, he was the Principal at Verner Elementary in the Riverview School District for five (5) years. 

Mr. Shoaf’s experience as Principal and Assistant Principal has helped him gain a much greater understanding of the K-12 experience for every child and understands the importance of early childhood education.

Mr. Shoaf and his wife, Andrea, reside in Springdale, PA but are looking to relocate closer to their jobs in the near future.
